The governor of New York, accused of harassment, was threatened with a criminal case

The governor of the state of New York, Andrew Cuomo, was threatened with court: an assistant who had previously accused him of harassment filed a criminal case against him. This is reported by The New York Post, citing a statement by Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple.

The identity of the governor’s victim is not disclosed — in the report of the New York Attorney General, she is designated as an “executive assistant”. If her words are confirmed, Cuomo may be detained.

In early August, the state Attorney General’s office confirmed that the governor of New York had harassed assistants. The document contains various episodes of the politician’s harassment of women, attempts to hug or kiss them, intimate offers. A woman who filed a criminal complaint claimed that Cuomo grabbed her by the chest.

In addition, one of the colleagues of the politician reported that the entire office of the governor put pressure on her after she filed a complaint of sexual harassment. Cuomo fired another employee after accusations of harassment and announced that the woman “belittled colleagues and shouted at them.”

Lindsay Boylan, a former assistant to the governor, one of the first to report on the harassment of Cuomo, accused President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris of silence. According to Boylan, the country’s top officials were aware of the behavior of the head of state, but preferred not to interfere in the situation. At the same time, Cuomo denied and continues to deny absolutely all the testimony of the victims of his harassment, saying that they are lying.

Since 2020, seven women have told about the harassment by the governor. His resignation was demanded by the mayor of New York, as well as a number of senators and congressmen of the United States and the state of New York-both Republicans and Democrats. The New York parliament planned to introduce a resolution on the impeachment of Cuomo.
